Frequently Asked Questions

How accurate are the cost estimates?
Our estimates use researched daily cost data for each city covering accommodation, food, transport, and activities. The category breakdown uses standard percentage splits that match real-world spending patterns. Actual costs may vary by season, exchange rates, and personal spending habits.
How much does a trip to Europe cost per day?
Budget travelers can expect $30-60/day in Eastern Europe (Prague, Budapest, Krakow) and $50-80/day in Western Europe (Paris, London, Amsterdam). Mid-range is typically $80-150/day and luxury $200+/day. Use the calculator above to get a specific breakdown for your destination.
What does the daily cost include?
The estimate covers four categories: accommodation (hotels/hostels), food and dining, local transport (metro, buses, taxis), and activities (museums, tours, attractions). International flights are not included in the daily cost.
How can I reduce my trip costs?
Travel during shoulder season (April-May, September-October in Europe), book accommodation 2-3 months ahead, use public transit instead of taxis, eat where locals eat rather than tourist areas, and take advantage of free walking tours and museum-free days.
