About voyAIage

voyAIage allows travelers to input their preferences — destinations, travel dates, budget, travel style, and group type — and receive a complete day-by-day itinerary in approximately 30 seconds. Each itinerary includes morning, afternoon, and evening activities with estimated costs, restaurant recommendations, transport tips, and accommodation suggestions.

After generation, users can refine their itinerary through an AI Trip Companion — a contextual chat interface that understands every detail of the trip and can swap activities, suggest cheaper alternatives, recommend hidden gems, and answer logistics questions. Users can also manually reorder, add, and delete activities, then save changes.

Coverage means different things on different parts of the site, so it is worth separating them rather than quoting one flattering number:

• Written city guides — 95 destinations with full guides, across Europe, North America (USA, Mexico, Canada), Asia, and South America
• Hotel price index — 240+ cities where we sample nightly rates directly and publish the median, ranked, with 30-day movement
• Trip planner — 400+ cities. The planner will build an itinerary for far more places than we have written guides for
• Programmatic subpages — dedicated best-time-to-visit, cost breakdown, and 3-day itinerary pages for each guide destination

Most travel sites quote prices from a booking partner. We measure ours. A pricing agent samples live nightly hotel rates three times a week and publishes the Global Hotel Price Index: every city we track, ranked cheapest to priciest, with how each has moved over 30 days.

Each city’s figure is a median over roughly 30 sampled properties, not an average — one $2,000 suite shouldn’t decide what a city costs. A city has to clear a minimum sample size to be listed at all, and we withhold any figure that fails a plausibility check rather than publish a number we can’t defend. The exclusions are stated on the index page itself, and the full method is published there.

The same data drives the cost tools, the destination guides, and price alerts — one email when the typical nightly rate in a city you’re watching actually falls against its own 30-day baseline. We alert on hotels only, because that is what we sample well enough to stand behind.

7. Schengen Days Calculator — tracks the 90/180-day rolling window for Schengen zone visitors
8. Cost Comparison — side-by-side daily cost comparison of up to 3 cities with live pricing
9. Jet Lag Calculator — estimates adjustment time and provides a day-by-day recovery schedule
10. Hotel Price Alerts — watch any tracked city and get one email when its median nightly rate falls, measured against our own index

voyAIage uses the following data sources and technologies:

• Itinerary generation — Anthropic Claude (claude-sonnet-4-6) for itinerary creation and travel tips
• Trip Companion and Check My Trip — Google Gemini 2.5 Flash-Lite for cost-efficient conversational AI
• Hotel pricing — our own sampling of live Agoda availability, three times a week, published as a median per city with 30-day movement
• Flight pricing — Travelpayouts fare data, shown per route rather than trended, because a single quote per route is not a series we would stand behind
• Places verification — Google Places, used to verify venues before they are published; unverified suggestions are discarded rather than shipped
• Weather — Open-Meteo climate normals, hemisphere-correct, for best-time-to-visit guidance
• Search performance — Google Search Console for indexing and ranking data
• Analytics — Google Analytics 4 for aggregated usage metrics

The platform is built with Next.js, TypeScript, and Tailwind CSS, hosted on Vercel, with data stored in Supabase (PostgreSQL). It runs 17 automated agents that maintain pricing data, audit that data for implausible figures, generate content, monitor SEO performance, and check affiliate link health. The auditing agent exists because the pricing data is the product: a figure we cannot defend is worse than no figure at all.

voyAIage is free to use with no account required. The platform earns affiliate commission when travelers book through partner links: Expedia (hotels and flights), VRBO (vacation rentals), GetYourGuide (tours and tickets), GoWithGuide (private local guides), Ticketmaster (events), Points.com (loyalty points), and Travelpayouts (car rental, airport transfers, rail, and bus).

Affiliate relationships do not influence itinerary recommendations, and they do not touch the price index — the rates we publish are what we sampled, not what a partner would prefer we show. Where a link earns us a commission, the recommendation still has to survive on its own merits.
