World Cup 2026 Match-Night Hotel Price Index

What does it actually cost to sleep in a host city on the night its team plays? We sampled live hotel rates on every remaining World Cup 2026 match night in each host city. The gap between the cheapest and priciest is bigger than most fans expect.

Data collected Jun 16, 2026 · 14 of 16 host cities · median nightly rate (2 adults, USD)

On match nights, a host-city hotel room runs from $85 in Los Angeles to $340 in Vancouver — a 4.0× spread. The catch: two of the biggest US markets, Los Angeles and San Francisco, are among the cheapest places to stay.

Methodology

  • What we measure: median nightly hotel rate across each host city's world cup 2026 match nights. We sample up to 10 available Agoda properties (2 adults, 1-night stay) on each of a city's remaining World Cup match nights, average each night, then take the median across nights. Fixed match-night dates make this a consistent city-to-city comparison — not a drifting snapshot.
  • Why the median: individual nights spike (a marquee fixture, a city's opener), so the median better reflects a typical match-night rate than any single date. The range column shows that night-to-night spread.
  • Coverage: 14 of 16 host cities. Excluded: Houston (no hotel feed), Toronto (single-property sample).
  • Snapshot, not a forecast: rates reflect availability as of Jun 16, 2026 and will move as nights sell out. This is a directional sample of market levels, not a census of every hotel.
